Wrap it Vogue V8896

Happy Thursday

I finish my first wrap dress for the summer. Wrap dresses are probably one of my favorite styles of dresses, easily dressed up or down. The versatility of them. And as a person who may or may not run late often being able to grab a dress from the closet wrap it and out the door will come in handy.

I sewed up Vogue pattern V8896, I spent a few hours cutting out the pattern lol. I truly didn't understand the layout they had. After cutting out the pieces, I was left with scraps that I needed to get two ties out of so I got creative, and piece together a tie piece. It works barely noticeable.

Cutting out this dress, has me on the search to finding a collapsable foldable table, counter height or close too. My current table is not working and cutting on the floor is getting tiresome.

Pattern Description: Wrap dress flared skirt

Pattern Sizing: 18 bodice and waist, graded to 24 for hips

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes for the most part

Were the instructions easy to follow? for the most part, the ties, didnt lay right so I did my own thing

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Love the finished project
Fabric Used: poly/lycra from fabric mart

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: just grading to the hips.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would but I have way too many more patterns to try.

  2. I've had my table for 3 years and while it's not the most sophisticated table, it works just fine! Just google "Joann hobby table". I don't remember the brand name. It's counter height (36") and saves the back. I think it's usually around $120.

That dress is gorgeous! Both pattern and fabric!

    1. Thanks, I will check it out. Because my motivation to cut out fabric is very low because my table is not working.
